About

Deborah graduated with a BA degree in Photojournalism and Fine Art from Syracuse University, and has been shooting professionally ever since. When she and her husband, Adam, were planning their own wedding, they had the idea to designated every Wednesday as "Wedding Wednesday" so they could focus on all the tasks that were required when planning such a special event. Thus, WeddingWednesday was born!

Weddings are such a unique look into a couple and their love, style and taste. The flowers, the dress, the emotion that fills the room when a couple takes their first kiss - Deborah captures it all in a photojournalist style with the utmost professionalism.

Deborah worked full time at a number of daily and weekly papers (Coastal Observer, Cape Cod Times, Charleston Post and Courier, The Thunderbolt) magazines (Church Solutions, Phone+), and book publishers (The History Press), as well as freelancing for clients including Sports Illustrated and Fleishman Hillard.

Wedding FAQ

What are you ‘like’ at weddings?

It is a goal of mine to have a small footprint and to capture your day unobtrusively. As a trained photojournalist with 15 years of shooting experience, I can best tell the story of your wedding day as it unfolds naturally. A recent client of mine said that when he looked at the photos of his son's wedding, it felt like he was actually there - re-living the moment. The wedding day flies by so quickly, I strive to take photos that capture the essence of the day as naturally happens. Of course I'll help pose you and family during the portrait session, but otherwise, I maintain a photojournalistic approach to document your day.

How are you different from the many photographers who shoot weddings?

Three things set me apart. First, I am an editorial photographer, meaning I am focused on capturing the uniqueness of my clients and their wedding in a true and beautiful way. I don't feel weddings are the time to have a full-flung fashion shoot, I am more interested in capturing the real you and your friends and family in beautiful light and in interesting ways. Second, I have B.As in both Photojournalism and Fine Art, allowing me to see and capture the beauty in every scenario. I bring the technical expertise and people skills required to serve my clients. And third, I believe that professional wedding photography should be available to people of all walks of life. I offer special pricing for teachers, food service employees, and active duty military.
